This book examines the current state of the production, processing, and manufacturing industries, and establishes what is needed to achieve a re-industrialization of the former industrial powerhouses and counterbalance the benefits of cheap labor providers. The Industrial Internet or Industrial Internet of Things, coined by GE, as a model, has gained a place in the industrial sector.

In addition, the book covers Industry 4.0, a method of change that is growing in acceptance, especially in Germany and other European industrialized countries (and the US), that have see dramatic shifts that have led to reduced profits and they pay to import or even lose markets to third world countries.

This book will look at the potential for IOT, big data, Cyber Personal Systems (CPS), Smart Factory technologies, and more to replace the current still largely mechanical people based systems of the third world countries.

What You'll Learn:
  • What is the Industrial Internet and Internet of Things
  • What technologies must advance to enable Industry 4.0
  • What is happening today to make that happen
  • What are examples of the implementation of Industry 4.0 in terms of case studies
  • How to apply some of these case studies
  • What is the potential to take back the lead in industrialization and the potential fall out that can result
