The Ashmolean began when the wealthy antiquary Elias Ashmole (161792) gifted his collection to the University of Oxford in 1682. It was then combined with an older University collection that included Guy Fawkes lantern. Today, the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology houses Western Art, Eastern Art, Antiquities, Cast Gallery and the Coin Room. The beautiful paintings from the Dutch Masters in this calendar are from the 17th century. Informative text accompanies each work and the datepad features previous and next months views.
