It is an attempt to understand and explain the motives behind the close alliance between China and Albania and the role this alliance played in their domestic relations and foreign policy. Since both countries viewed the USSR as their political, ideological and military opponent during the Cold War, they moved closer together to withstand Soviet pressure. The book analyzes the personality cults surrounding Enver Hoxha and Mao Zedong, their ideological concepts, absolutist logic, and their harshness against their opponents. It examines the breakdown of AlbaniaChina relations in the final phase of the Cold War and the gradual normalization of diplomatic relations in the postCold War period. The analysis covers various aspects of Albania's relations with China, from the establishment of diplomatic relations to the present day. The book focuses on topics such as ideology, nationalism, interstate relations, economic and trade relations, and military affairs.

Dr. Sabri Kiçmari is the Ambassador of Kosovo in Japan and has been a prominent public intellectual in his country for many years. Before this role, he was professor at the University of Prishtina (2018-2021) and had the distinction of being the first Ambassador of Kosovo to both Austria (2008 2013) and Australia (20132018). Notably, he is an accomplished author with six published books, including his latest works, History ContinuesThree Models of the Continuation of History, which was released by Palgrave Macmillan in 2022, and Introduction into Diplomacy, published by Springer in 2024. He studied Philosophy, Political Science and Sociology and holds Magister Artium and Ph.D. from the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität in Bonn, Germany.
