The Complete Book of Coronary Artery Disease: Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, and Management covers various essential aspects related to the anatomy, embryology, anomalies, physiology, pathology, imaging, and disease management of the coronary system. The book highlights both invasive and non-invasive imaging techniques, with a focus on coronary CTA and CT-guided PCI. Intravascular imaging methods such as IVUS and OCT are elaborated on in assessing coronary health, along with a section on coronary anomalies and their incidence, diagnosis, and clinical implications. Meanwhile, information on coronary physiology explores non-pathological functions and adaptations to stressors.

Coronary ischemia assessment using physiological parameters and unresolved questions regarding symptoms are also fundamental to this volume. Further, this book details coronary atherosclerosis, including pathological processes and treatment options. A non-atherosclerotic coronary anatomy section addresses pathologies impacting coronary arteries in other ways. For professionals seeking consolidated information on an oft-overlooked topic, they need look no further than this book.

Dr. Robert Jay” Widmer, MD, PhD, FACC, FSCAI, is an esteemed interventional/structural cardiologist at Baylor Scott and White Health, and also serves as a clinical associate professor for Texas A&M and Baylor Colleges of Medicine. He completed his MD/PhD at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center in 2009 and pursued advanced fellowships in interventional/structural cardiology. He has designed a digital health program for cardiac rehabilitation, leading to significant innovations in vascular biology, coronary physiology, and digital health.

Dr. Widmer is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). As faculty, he has been the site principal investigator on multiple trials, building extensive databases in areas such as non-obstructive coronary artery disease and cardio-oncology. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to cardiology, including recognition for excellence in research and clinical care.
