This textbook was written in response to a widespread issue the author observed over many years of teaching: most introductory mechanics books do not make foundational concepts truly accessible. After examining more than 100 textbooks and numerous research articles, the author identified a significant gap between high school physics and advanced classical mechanics, a gap that often leaves students confused and discouraged.

This book closes that gap with clarity, rigor, and an intuitive approach.

Aimed at undergraduate students in Physics, Mathematics, and Engineering, it provides detailed mathematical derivations, step-by-step problemsolving strategies, clear illustrations, and examoriented content. Each chapter includes solved examples and a range of practice problems designed to strengthen both conceptual understanding and analytical skills.

Written in simple and accessible language, the book is ideal for students with no prior exposure to mechanics. It also serves as a valuable resource for educators preparing course materials and exams. Developed in response to the persistent requests of his students, the author has created a comprehensive and studentfriendly guide that redefines the teaching of classical mechanics, making it not only understandable, but genuinely engaging.

Tapas Ghosh obtained his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Physics from Vidyasagar University, completing his postgraduate studies in 2008. He  joined Vidyasagar University in 2010 to pursue research in integrated optics and UV written waveguides. He received his Ph.D. in 2018 for his theoretical and experimental work on continuous wave UV-written waveguides in lithium niobate. Since 2015, Dr. Ghosh has been serving as an Assistant Professor (W.B.E.S.) in Physics at Jhargram Raj College, Government of West Bengal. He has published widely in international journals, presented at major conferences, and developed a copyrighted MATLAB-based waveguide analysis software (SW 9451/2017). His research currently focuses on optical biosensor modeling. With over a decade of undergraduate teaching experience and eight years of service as postgraduate guest faculty member, he specializes in vector analysis, mechanics, electrodynamics, and electronics. He has supervised numerous student projects and actively participated to faculty development programs across India.
