David Atherton is a food-writer, podcaster and winner of The Great British Bake Off, 2019. David's love of cooking was inspired by his mothers freshly baked bread and cakes every week. His passion for food led to a career in healthcare as an international health advisor, spending time in UK Aid-funded hospitals overseas. Davids mothers home cooking, inspiration from his travels and his knowledge in nutrition and healthcare inspire his recipes today. Davids beloved series of cook books for children includes My First Cook Book (2020), My First Green Cook Book (2021) My First Baking Book (2022) and My First Christmas Cook Book (2023). Jess Rose is an author, illustrator and designer born and raised in Yorkshire, England. She loved to draw and write from a very young age and never stopped even when her studies and earlier career led her to be a designer. Making stories for her children was the catalyst to share them with a wider audience and to bring her love of illustrating into her career. Although she is a digital illustrator, she likes to give the effects of hand-applied techniques to her work, such as paint marks, ink and print qualities. Jess' love for the outdoors, nature and folklore often inspire her work and fuel her imagination. When Jess isn't working and spending time with her family, she can be found walking in the countryside, wild swimming and gardening.
