This is the second in a four-volume edition, translation, and commentary of the Second Order of the Jerusalem Talmud, and the 15th volume of the whole Jerusalme Talmud series. The text is based on the manuscript text of the Jerushalmi edited by J. Sussman for the Academy of the Hebrew Language, Jerusalem in 2001. The Talmud is essentially an outline, to be fleshed out by a teacher's explanation, says Guggenheimer, and the English translation should not contain literary qualities that the original does not possess, so cannot stand separate from the commentary.
