A book as artistic creation: The artist Ulla von Brandenburg (b. 1974) creates multimedia works in a unique mixture of theatrical settings, object art,and performance. Boundaries between reality and illusion, interior and exterior, are blurred in her art as in this colour-saturated volume, which springs entirely from her own artistic vision.

From films, textile works, dance, and song to literature, circus, and spiritualism in the multifaceted work of Ulla von Brandenburg, the most diverse media pulsate together in a mode of theatrical expression. In doing so, she reflects on the conditions of human existence, whether as an individual or part of a group. This artists book offers a comprehensive overview of her work since 2018, including her latest piece developed especially for its presentation at the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum.
