200 Years of Tippecanoe County: A Community Tells Its Stories presents the history of the community by the community. It is a celebration of the people, places, and events that have made Tippecanoe County what it is today, told by those who have called it home. Short articles with accompanying photos provide a fascinating glimpse into how our community has changed over the last two centuries. Readers will get to know the people who have lived here, including indigenous Native Americans, early European immigrants, African American community leaders, and Vietnamese refugees. Readers will be inspired by the stories of local entrepreneurs and inventors, scientists and schoolteachers, journalists and public servants—and learn how generations of Tippecanoe County residents have served their country in war and peace. Celebrate our area's rich history of music, literature, and art as you discover the stories behind events and institutions such as the Indiana Fiddlers’ Gathering and the Haan Museum of Indiana Art, and relive exciting moments in local sports, from the debut of baseball in Lafayette to Purdue’s 1967 Rose Bowl win. Claire Eagle is the executive director of the Tippecanoe County Historical Association. She received her bachelor of science degree in history from the University of North Alabama and a master's degree in historical administration from Eastern Illinois University. While not a native Hoosier, Eagle has spent the last eight years calling Indiana home.

Kelly Lippie is the curator of collections for the Tippecanoe County Historical Association and grew up in Lake County, Indiana. She received her bachelor of arts degree in art history from Marian College in Indianapolis and a master's degree in museum studies from Indiana UniversityPurdue University Indianapolis. Lippie has over twenty years of experience working at museums and historic sites.

Jeffrey R. Schwab is the president of the TCHA Board of Governors. Although interested in a wide range of Tippecanoe County and Lafayette history, his primary area of research has been the French Colonial and Revolutionary War years. He has long been associated with the annual Feast of the Hunters' Moon and has been a member of the Feast leadership for over a quarter of a century. Schwab retired from Purdue University after forty years of service in various information technology positions.
