lhami Yldz is a professor and controlled environment systems engineer and has expertise in energy, the environment, sustainability, and the relevant innovation areas covering environmental biotechnology, bioreactors, biofuels and industrial bioproducts production using waste streams, greenhouse engineering, aquatic systems engineering, complex systems modeling, heat pumps, combined heat and power generation, flue gas recovery and greenhouse gas mitigation, and in particular, hydronic heating, drying and hot water storage systems, as well as climate change mitigation and adaptation.

He has provided extensive services at different capacities and contributed to the training of highly qualified personnel at various institutions in Canada, China, Turkey, the United States, and Central Asia. He has also served as a member of editorial boards for several international journals, and review panels for a number of research granting agencies and institutions internationally, including the U.S. Secretary of Energys review panel. He has published numerous books and book chapters, peer-reviewed articles in scholarly journals, and conference proceedings; organized several conferences and symposia; and delivered multiple keynote speeches and invited lectures internationally at conferences, symposia and institutions. He has also designed and built numerous environmentally friendly commercial energy and controlled environment systems, transferring extensive research findings to commercial settings in Canada, Mexico, Russia, Turkey, and the United States. He is a recipient of a number of international honors and awards and a firm human rights defender for all, everywhere, and all the time.
