Digital Curation in the Data Age combines both conceptual foundations and applied approaches to explore the lifecycle of data, from its collection, selection, and ingestion into an organizations management system, to its preservation, access, and use. It introduces key concepts, digital curation models, and surrounding factors that shape digital curation practices, while offering a global perspective that emphasizes the importance of international collaboration.

Digital curation has grown increasingly vital as data has become an essential asset for a broader range of organizations (e.g., libraries, archives, and data centers), which now face the weighty responsibility of ensuring the long-term integrity, authenticity, and usability of their digital collections. Nevertheless, it is a complex practice that draws from multiple disciplines, including Library and Information Science, Archival Science, and Computer Science. This book addresses that complexity by serving as a comprehensive yet easy-to-understand digital curation handbook for students, educators, researchers, and practitioners alike.
