Cooperstock (physics, University of Victoria, emeritus) consolidates work that he and his colleagues have done on solving Einstein's unfinished theorem concerning general relativity. He begins with special relativity, including Lorentz transformations and the Doppler shift. Then he moves on to general relativity. Within the discussion of the theory, Cooperstock emphasizes his own conception of gravity and how it has been forced into attempts to establish a Unified Field Theory. In his opinion, gravity is outside the four forces, encompassing them. While gravity waves have yet to be detected, he posits them from observations of binary stars. Using his theory of gravity, Cooperstock questions the accuracy of current propositions on the structure of the universe, such as string theory and dark matter. While this book is intended for those with a solid knowledge of physics, if not cosmology, enough is explained non-mathematically that an interested general reader would be able to follow the argument.
