The development of the technique of generating high-voltage nanosecond pulses based on the effect of a nanosecond opening switch in semiconductor diodes gave the prerequisites for the development of nanosecond electron accelerators with a pulse-periodic operation mode. Such accelerators generate high-intensity large beams that have a strong biological effect. However, to create industrial accelerators and implement highly efficient radiation technologies, it is necessary to provide the required range of beam parameters, high reliability, and long life of accelerators.

This book describes the principles and design of repetitive nanosecond electron accelerators, as well as the development technologies and specific radiation technologies based on them. It discusses the application of the created accelerators in various branches of science and technology, in particular, for radiation sterilization and disinfection of medical and food products, correction of defects in solids, and radiation-chemical technologies. The book also covers the issues encountered in measuring the parameters of electron beams, monitoring parameters, and automating the control of accelerators.
