Drawing on years of experience as professional photographers and lecturers, Galer and Andrews offer photographers and designers a self-study guide to using the digital darkroom rather than the traditional darkroom for creative photographic illustration. Written for beginner to intermediate Photoshop users, the text uses a structured learning approach, combining explanations with practical, step-by-step applications of the skills. The first half of the text features an extensive foundation module covering all the basics of the image-editing process from capture to print, followed by modules teaching advanced skills, such as layers and channels, selections, filters, and layer blends. The second half contains 29 retouching, composite, and special effects projects enabling users to apply the skills learned in the previous modules. Through a companion website, users can access the images for the projects, 10-plus hours of movie tutorials, online chapters, and other resources. Illustrated throughout with full-color photographs and screen shots. Annotation ©2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
