Featuring music by Alan Haughton, Fiona Macardle, Alan Bullard, Pauline Hall (editor) and others, there is something to suit all tastes here. This volume is well worth exploring. * MMA Ensemble January 04 * The first book to catch my eye was another winner from the Oxford Piano Method. Piano Time Going Places by Pauline Hall and Korky Paul contains clever pieces and illustrations to match, which really tickle the imagination . . . Furthermore, there were some excellent teaching pieces, for example 'Hong Kong Ferry', which uses the pentatonic scale, or 'Flanagan's Jig' by Alan Haughton, in six-eight time. An added bonus is that the titles and pictures of many pieces in the book also provide plenty of inspiration for pupils to develop their own improvisations.
