Vibration Engineering presents recent advances in the field, including industrial standards and applications in the finite element method, infrastructure, and active vibration control. It offers a study in seismic vibration control and analysis for building structures and liquid storage tanks.

Covering a range of vibration engineering fields, the book highlights machinery diagnostics, modal analysis, energy harvesting, balancing, vibration isolation, and human-vibration interaction. It discusses experimental fault identification in journal bearings using vibration-based condition monitoring. The book also considers advances in vibration-based structural health monitoring of civil infrastructures.

The book will be a useful reference for industry professionals and engineers working with challenges and advances of vibrations in the fields of mechanical, aerospace, structural, and civil engineering.

Prof. Susmita Naskar is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering & Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton. She worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Whiting School of Engineering of Johns Hopkins University in the collaboration of Army Research Lab, USA. She moved to the USA after completing her doctoral degree from the University of Aberdeen. Susmita's research interests and expertise broadly lie in the field of multiscale structural mechanics and multiphysics analysis focusing on engineered materials and advanced composites involving the intersection of additive manufacturing, material characterization through computational design, and experiments in engineering. In addition, she is also working in advanced manufacturing techniques that are relevant to the fabrication of engineered materials like composites and metamaterial.
