This book provides selected contributions of the 4th International Conference on Advanced Joining Processes, held in Coimbra, Portugal, on October 1617, 2025.

Researchers from over 25 countries presented their innovations in this field. In order to disseminate the work presented at the conference, 13 papers were selected for this volume. The focus of this volume is on the most recent research topics concerning joining by plastic deformation, adhesive bonding, welding, and additive manufacturing. The book is a state-of-the-art of advanced methods of joining and also serves as a reference volume for researchers and graduate students working with advanced joining processes.
Part 1: Joining by plastic deformation.- Particle-reinforced aluminium
solid self-piercing rivets for joining aluminium alloy sheets.- Part 2:
Adhesive bonding.- The effect of viscous fingering on the shear properties of
structural adhesive joints.- Environmental Degradation Effects on Mode I
Fatigue Behavior of CFRP Adhesive Joints.- Optimizing Bond Strength Between
Cast Metal Dental Crowns and Metal Post-and-Core Restorations: A
Comprehensive Experimental and Literature-Based Investigation.- Part 3:
Welding.- Development and Evaluation of Laser-Based Cleaning Strategies for
the Reuse of Stainless Steel in Plastic-Metal Hybrid Joints.- Dissimilar
laser joining of titanium to steel: step by step progress.- Characteristics
of intra-granular microstructure in steel weld metals formed by CO2-shielded
high-current buriedarc welding.- Process characteristics of wire assisted
three-arc tungsten inert gas welding without transferred arc for cladding and
additive manufacturing.- Reduction of residual stress by narrowing the repair
groove: Optimizing repair welding with modern welding processes for
high-strength offshore steels.- Development of an X-ray camera for Electron
beam characterization.- Part 4: Additive manufacturing.- Comparative Study of
Microstructure, Tensile Strength and Corrosion Resistance of 316L Stainless
Steel Produced via Novel Resistance Weld Additive Manufacturing and Wire Arc
Additive Manufacturing Processes.- Residual stress evaluation using the
contour method of an additive manufactured high-strength steel solid cuboid.-
Influence of substrate design on properties and residual stresses in hybrid
additive manufacturing of high-strength steels using MSG processes.
