Comprising three volumes, two of them 1200 pages in length, this proceedings contains the 500 papers that were selected to be presented at the Sixth International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications, held in Jinan U. in Jinan, China in October 2006. The papers are grouped among broad topics that include artificial neural networks, fuzzy systems, data mining, fault diagnosis, hybrid intelligent systems, and intelligent architectures. The papers represent the author's research; many have multiple authors. Though the majority of the presenters were from China and Korea, the program committee and reviewers are from research institutions worldwide.
