Advancements in Modeling-Based Therapeutics and Technology for Chronic Diseases explores the fundamental role played by animal and cellular models in unravelling the complexities of chronic diseases and underlying treatments. These models serve as crucial tools for scrutinizing the complicated molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying such diseases, conducting preclinical evaluations of pharmaceutical compounds, and probing into the genetic components contributing to disease pathogenesis and are the foundation of innovative therapeutic approaches for optimizing patient care in the treatment of chronic diseases. The book explores critical chronic diseases, providing insights into their complexities, causes, and potential therapeutic approaches. Content is organized into three sections. The first section begins with an introductory exploration of the intricate interplay of factors contributing to chronic illness burden then goes on to compare animal models, precision medicine and personalized drug design approaches, and advancements in biomarker discovery and validation used in targeted therapies. Further, this section intricately examines cellular and immunotherapy modelling as well as the role of transnational models for the management of chronic diseases. Various technological innovations in chronic diseases management are reviewed in the second section, including gene editing techniques in chronic disease treatment, image technologies for modelling and monitoring, computational tools and methods, as well as integrated systems biology approaches in chronic disease research. The book’s final section is devoted to discussing ethical and regulatory considerations, dilemmas and obstacles, with special focus on addressing data privacy concerns. In summary, this valuable resource offers a combination of current advances, practical insights, and treatment strategies, enabling scientists and researchers working in the field of modeling-based therapeutics for chronic diseases to stay abreast of novel developments and drive future direction in healthcare.
