Dr. P. K. Jain is the former Director of the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi and was a professor in the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, IIT (Roorkee). He has also served as the Director for the Indian Institute of Technology (Patna) and the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design & Manufacturing, Jabalpur. He, in various capacities, has been serving as a member of many national-level committees like INAE, CMTI (Bangalore), NITIE (Mumbai), AIIMS (Raebareli) etc. After earning his Ph.D. degree in 1996, he did his post-doctoral research from Netherlands in 1998. He worked as a guest editor of special issues and editor of many proceedings of conferences. He is a fellow of INAE, IE(I), JSPS and is the recipient of many awards like University Medals, Carrier Award for Young Teacher, IIT(R) Star Performer. He has contributed many papers in international, and national journals and conferences. He has guided more than twenty Ph.D. research scholars and many M.Tech. research scholars.
Dr. M. S. Shunmugam was a Professor (Emeritus) in the Manufacturing Engineering Section in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras, Chennai. After receiving his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras in 1976, he served in IIT Bombay (from 1977 to 1980) and in IIT Madras from 1980 onwards. He was a visiting faculty member at Michigan Technological University during 1989-1991 and was a member of the Board of Governors of IIT Madras during 2012-2013. Dr.Shanmugams research interests include metrology, machine tools, manufacturing, gears, micro-machining and computer applications in manufacturing. He has published in numerous peer-reviewed national and international journal and conference papers.
Dr. M. Vashista is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), India. He was a visiting researcher in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Newcastle University, UK. He holds a masters degree in Welding Engineering from University of Roorkee (now, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee) and a PhD degree in machining (with specialization in grinding) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur India. He has published multiple papers in various leading journals of international repute and more than 45 papers in international and national conferences. His area of research is machining, grinding, and material characterization. He has supervised several PhD theses and guided more than 25 M.Tech dissertations. He is the recipient of the prestigious BOYSCAST fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology, India.
Dr. S. Pratap is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT (BHU) Varanasi and previously served in the same role at IIIT Jabalpur. He completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at The University of Hong Kong and was awarded a prestigious Swiss Exchange Student Fellowship from EPFL, Switzerland, during his PhD at IIT Kharagpur. Dr. Pratap has published over 50 research papers in leading international journals and numerous conference papers and authored three books. His contributions have been recognized with the Outstanding Reviewer Awards from two reputed journals and the IEI Young Engineer Award. He actively engages in editorial roles for several international journals and holds lifetime memberships in professional societies such as the Institution of Engineers (India) and the Operations Research Society of India (ORSI) etc.
Dr. J. P. Misra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. He obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Kalyani Govt. Engineering College in 2007. Subsequently, he obtained his Master of Technology and Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2009 and 2014. He has published various research papers, conference papers and books. He has supervised multiple Ph.D. theses, M.Tech dissertations, and B.Tech projects. His research interests include process and machine development, machining science, advanced manufacturing processes, etc.
