This work has been specifically written to describe finite difference solutions to variations in beam on elastic foundation problems using micro-computers. It covers the treatment of all common forms of loadings, non-prismatic beams, variable subgrades and different support/boundary conditions. Several worked examples are included in the text to illustrate th emethod of analysis. The accompanying BEF (Beam on Elastic Foundation) software can analyze all the practical applications identified in the text for manipulation and easy reference, together with many sample problems.
