Complete walkthrough for building an interactive architectural visualization prototype using only Unreal Engine 5 with this fullcolor guide

Key Features

Understand the general workflow of using Unreal Engine 5 for your ArchViz work Learn important techniques for setting up a project Create an efficient prototype without the need to model elements in other software

Book Description Unreal Engine 5 is a realtime engine that can be used to create both stunning looking and highly interactive visualization experiences. This book will provide a somewhat unique walkthrough in which the user will be learning to create a fullyfledged, interactive prototype of an architectural visualization project. In this instance though, without the need to involve any other 3d software in the pipeline given that everything will be done inside the brandnew Unreal Engine 5.

You will begin by first installing the latest version of the Unreal Engine, and then move on to setting up the project structure that will be used throughout the rest of the book, this being an often overlooked and yet critical part of the process to get right. You will then learn how to construct an architectural visualization prototype without ever having to leave the Unreal application, so both Terrain sculpting and Model building from basic plan drawings will be covered here. Besides building the structure, the reader will also learn how to add lighting, materials, and even essential interactivity in order to make the prototype as high quality and engaging as possible.

By the end of this book the user will have the ability to take designs of their own to the fully featured prototype stage, as well as have gained a good understanding of the wealth of architectural visualization tools that Unreal 5 has to offer.

What you will learn

Leverage the power of immersive architectural visualizations using Unreal Engine 5 Understand the Unreal 5 UI and the engines general workflow Make use of the lighting and material options available in Unreal Engine 5 Become familiar with creating and then tweaking quixel assets and materials in an Unreal scene Be comfortable adding at least basic interactivity to a visualization project How to tweak various aspects of UE5 settings in order to produce as high a quality final presentation as possible, given the confines of the brief presented

Who This Book Is ForThis book is suitable for all levels of Unreal Engine users, from amateurs right through to architectural technicians, professional architects, and designers who want to take their 3D designs to the next level of presentation. Intermediate 3D Artists, Environment Artists, Interior Designers, Architects, ArchViz Artists and Level Designers who want to learn how to use the Unreal Engine as either part of or as all of an ArchViz pipeline. No prior knowledge will be assumed but the material in the book should still benefit those who already have an understanding of using Unreal.
