Filippo Familiari is Associate Professor (qualified as Full Professor) of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, Deputy Director, Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery Unit, Residency Program Director, Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, PhD Programme Coordinator, Physical Exercise and Sport Sciences at Magna Graecia University and Mater Domini University Hospital of Catanzaro, Italy. He started doing research during his clinical observership and research fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University under the mentorship of Professor Edward G. McFarland. There he understood the basics of scientific research applied to the clinical field and this experience allowed him to face his subsequent fellowships at Universitätsklinik Balgrist (Zurich, Switzerland) under the mentorship of Professor Christian Gerber and The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute (Vail, Colorado, USA) under the mentorship of Dr. Robert F. LaPrade. During his research years he has been involved in over 50 peer reviewed papers, 10 book chapters, 1 book, and has had almost 100 abstracts accepted for presentation at national and international conferences. He has a strong interest in shoulder and knee arthroplasty, sports medicine, and new technologies in orthopedics.





Olimpio Galasso is Full Professor of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery at University of Salerno (Italy) and Director of Clinica Ortopedica Department, San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi D'Aragona University Hospital of Salerno (Italy). He is Residency Program Director, Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, University of Salerno and member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery (SIOT). During his research years he has been involved in 110 reviewed papers, 7 book chapters, and he has had over 230 abstracts accepted for presentation at national and international conferences. He has a strong interest in joint arthroplasty for degenerative diseases and shoulder and knee arthroscopy.





Giorgio Gasparini is Full Professor of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery at Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro (Italy). He is Chair of the Orthopaedic and Traumatology Department at Magna Graecia University and Mater Domini University Hospital of Catanzaro, Italy. He is Past President of the Italian Orthopaedic Research Society (IORS) and of the International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty (ISTA). He is the Head of the Research Center on Musculoskeletal Health, MusculoSkeletal Health@UMG at Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro, Italy. His areas of scientific interest focus on the pathomechanisms and treatment of osteoarthritis, and the impact of surgical treatment on infected joint arthroplasty. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, serves on the editorial boards of several journals.
