This book provides high-quality images along with concise descriptions of the various malformations and neurodevelopmental disorders of the central nervous system (CNS). It serves as a useful guide for pathologists and trainees who do not necessarily have abundant experience in diagnosing CNS malformations and therefore may need an easy-to-understand reference. This atlas shares complex neuropathological findings noted in the vast number of CNS malformations that the authors have encountered over a number of years. Chapters also contain guidelines on how to effectively perform perinatal brain removals at necropsy as well as guidelines for post-mortem examination of brain and spinal cord specimens from patients with neurodevelopmental anomalies.

In addition to illustrations, the book includes easy-to-read descriptions of the different CNS malformations, including gross and microscopic features as well as any known or proposed pathogenesis, and related genetic mutations where applicable. Atlas of Neurodevelopmental Pathology serves as a valuable resource for residents and fellows in neuropathology as well as neuropathologists, and pediatric pathologists who either by interest or necessity wish to have an illustrative reference of CNS malformations.
