Kristina Arakelyan attended The Purcell School as a scholarship student from age 11 before attaining a BMus in composition from the Royal Academy of Music. She completed an MSt in Composition at the University of Oxford and holds an LRAM teaching qualification. Arakelyan is studying for her PhD in composition at King's College, London, where she also teaches undergraduates. Her works have been broadcast and performed internationally, including in her native Armenia.
