This textbook is an excellent guide to the key principles and methods of clinical research. The book is primarily intended for researchers in dentistry, but also for researchers in medicine and nursing. The entire research process is described from the initial phase of formulating a research question, research plan and ethics review, followed by the implementation phase and the phases of reporting, interpretation and finally transferring the research results to others. Based on authentic research studies, the book thoroughly reviews and comments on the pros and cons of the various research methods and statistical applications that the studies have used. The book also describes how a systematic literature review including meta-analysis is carried out, and ends with advice for presenting the newly acquired research results to other researchers, care givers and the surrounding community. With relevant examples, concrete tips, clarifying illustrations, summaries and a detailed index, the book is a valuable and outstanding source of useful knowledge based on the authors' many years of experience in clinical research production and teaching in research methodology and statistics.
