This volume proposes a transnational and multicultural epistemological framework for a redefinition of masculinities. The essays conceptually depart from the sex-role paradigm, shifting focus toward the dynamics of power, multiplicity, and hegemony in the construction of masculinity. These studies unequivocally demonstrate the diversity of masculinities across cultures, refuting the notion of a universal masculine archetype.
