Thirty-three papers represent the bulk of the contributions from the conference on boundary element methods. The papers address a wide range of topics within the fields of advanced formulation, fluid mechanics, electromagnetics, stress analysis, damage mechanics, wave propagation problems, acoustics, and mesh reduction methods. The editors (from the Wessex Institute of Technology, UK and the U. of Split, Croatia) suggest that the work on mesh reduction methods, covering a diversity of techniques for eliminating and simplifying meshes required for analysis, is particularly significant.
