Cisco developed the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional (CCIP) certification to address the growing needs in the telecommunications and service provider industries for individuals competent in infrastructure or access solutions in a Cisco Internetworking environment. Candidates must pass three exams - two core and one elective. The BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks) exam is a core exam that covers Cisco key technologies related to using Cisco routers connected in LANs and WANs typically found at medium to large network sites.
