Originally published in 1927, Luquet's (1876-1965) Le Dessin Enfantin was one of the first texts to focus on children's drawings from a developmental psychology perspective. In giving children and their drawings serious consideration, Luquet radically challenged existing ideas about the subject. Costall's (psychology, U. of Copenhagen and U. of Portsmouth) translation is the first English publication of Luquet's text. In the accompanying introduction, he discusses major features of Luquet's work, including their relation to more recent work in the field. Distributed by ISBS. Annotation c.
