Papers from the June 2015 Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy survey the latest findings from Japan in chronic kidney disease (CKD), with a special focus on hemodialysis techniques and the elderly population. Topics include the clinical effect of pre-dilution hemodiafiltration, the dialyzer, dysregulated iron metabolism in patients on hemodialysis, cell sheet-based tissue engineering for mesothelial cell injury, and erythropoiesis-stimulating agent in end-stage renal disease. Several papers look at the cost-effectiveness of hemodialysis in Japan and the status and future of peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis therapy in Japan. Other subjects include cerebrovascular diseases in dialysis patients and vascular calcification in end-stage renal disease. The book is for researchers and clinicians. Black and white and color illustrations are included. Annotation ©2015 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
