Lynette Owen (General Editor and Contributor) is a freelance copyright and rights consultant. She started her publishing career in rights at Cambridge University Press and also worked at Pitman Publishing and Marshall Cavendish before joining Longman Group Ltd (now Pearson Education) until May 2013 as Copyright Director. She regularly lectures on copyright and rights courses both in the UK and abroad. She is also the author of Selling Rights now in its 9th edition and published by Routledge.
She received the London Book Fair Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003 and an OBE for services to publishing and international trade in the Queen's New Year Honours in 2009.
