Maddie and the gang are finally heading into spring after a long island winter, although life is just as hectic as ever. Val and Ethans wedding planning is in full force, so Maddie is up to her ears with her mother and sisters when she really wants to focus on the cafe and all the new things shes got planned for the year. The crews next big project: a traveling cat cafe truck available for stops at libraries, parties, senior centres, and more. The group heads on an an off-island trip for the inaugural journey - to a cat literary festival in Provincetown.
The festival is hosted by a big name cat-romance author, Jasmine Prescott, who also runs a cat rescue foundation on greater Cape Cod. The festival celebrates authors who write in this cat romance genre, of which Jasmine is queen. But tensions are running a little high from the start because another author, Vivi St. Clair, has burst onto the scene and is giving Jasmine some competition. And shes brought her share of drama to the festival. All of it seems to just be the norm for a big-name author - until someone is found dead and the cat cafe/food truck winds up right in the middle of the murder. To make matters worse, one of Maddies friend Harry disappears the same day Vivi shows up dead, throwing into question what was really going on with this food truck and why it showed up in their world.
Maddie has to figure out what's really behind all of this before the cat cafes name is ruined - and find out how Harry came to be in the middle of this mystery.
