Kakuru (sociology, Makerere U.) analyzes the impact of gender inequality and the complex interactions between schools and rural livelihoods within the context of the HIV/AIDS crisis, carrying out her research within the framework of the African Women Leaders in Agriculture and the Environment project funded by The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
