The field is active, and its mathematical rigor has increased significantly, thus producing more reliable numerical predictions (and, presumably, more reliable concrete structures). One hundred papers from the March 2003 conference held in Austria are arranged in sections on computational advances and multiscale modelling, constitutive modelling, and modelling of multiphysics phenomena and time effects, of structural performance, and of seismic and cyclic behavior. The whole provides a resource for researchers and practicing engineers who seek knowledge of new modelling approaches, including discussion of their applicability and robustness. Indexing is by author, but not by subject. Annotation (c) Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

A collection of 100 conference papers divided into five sections: computational advances and multiscale modelling; constitutive modelling; modelling in multiphysics phenomena and time effects; modelling of structural performance; and modelling of seismic and cyclic response.
