This book examines how an English terminology can be used to describe European school systems. By exploring the educational revolution of nineteenth and twentieth-century Europe, this book makes two significant contributions to the international history of education: a comprehensive analysis of over 115 English language keywords, and a reinterpretation of the expansion of primary and secondary schooling.
