The nation's 'Flower Bible' as it is often described, was first published in 2011. Now, this best-selling book on the selection, care and availability of fresh cut flowers is on its 5th edition. Easy to follow, with full care instructions, it is suitable for florists, floristry students, flower arrangers and anyone who appreciates having fresh cut flowers in the home.

From Acacia to Zinnia, a page is devoted to each flower with full colour photography for easy identification and covers the flowers availability, vase life, description, stem length and type, colour range, care and conditioning both professionally and in the home.

There are also suggestions on the flower's use in wedding work, tips on how to display it, and botanical information regarding its genus, family and origin.

The 5th edition has been thoroughly revised and expanded with some new flowers added, plus UK grown seasonal availability with an 'At a Glance' seasonal guide of flowers grown by commercial British flower farms.

All the pages are ordered in A-Z of botanical names, with a comprehensive index of common names, plus a glossary of floristry and botanical terms used.

Wiro bound, the book opens flat, perfect for a workbench or table, and has a wipe clean cover.

Arvustused

Cut Flowers by Su Whale really is the reference book for florists, students and everyone who loves flowers. With succinct fact files on well-known blooms, it's the perfect way to familiarise yourself with the wonderful world of all things floral!

I recommend your books to my students all the time, your books are awesome - I've had them for years. I am now taking EMC (European Masters Certification) and it helps so much with my nomenclature project.

Su has created a handbook that should be an essential piece of equipment for every floral art/floristry/gardening student in the world not to mention florists, flower arrangers, brides and hobbyists too. This little book covers more than 150 flower varieties in normal use for arranging and tells you about availability, vase life, tips on arranging in the home and suitability for weddings etc. We have watched in admiration as Su tackled this very necessary subject matter and have been privileged to watch the project's development. The photography by Mark Follon is quite superb!   Alison Bradley
