Digital systems are an important part of modern life. This book introduces the basic building blocks of digital systems and how these blocks can be used to design a digital system. It can be used as a laboratory manual for courses such as Digital Logic and Digital Electronics. All of the experiments in this book can be done in a simulation environment like: Proteus® or NI® MultiSim® or on the breadboard in a real laboratory environment.

An Introduction to Digital Systems.- Logic Gates and Combinational Logic Circuits.- Digital Arithmetic.- Multiplexer and De-multiplexer.- Encoder and Decoder.- Display Information on Seven Segments.- Latch, Flip Flop and Shift Register.- Frequency Division with Flip Flops.- Counter Circuits.- Oscillator Circuits.- Analog-to-Digital and Digital-to-Analog Converters.

Farzin Asadi received his B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering, his M.Sc. in Control Engineering, and his Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering. Currently, he is with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maltepe University, Istanbul, Turkey.

Dr. Asadi has published more than 40 international papers and 25 books. He is on the editorial board of 7 scientific journals as well. His research interests include switching converters, control theory, robust control of power electronics converters, and robotics.
