The practice game between the first-years at Oinokami and the bruisers of Sekka High starts off with a bang! Right from the puck drop, Little Genma is goaded into a penalty resulting in two minutes in the pig box. Sekka’s game plan is to pound Oinokami into submission, and if fear gets the better of Oinokami’s players, it’ll be over quick. The newbies look to Coach Nihei for guidance, but Coach’s cryptic muttering is no help. Still, Rou’s not going down without a fight—he’s going to show Sekka something they haven’t seen before...beautiful ice hockey!
Satoru Noda was born in Kitahiroshima, Hokkaido, Japan. He moved to Tokyo to work in the manga industry as an art assistant. After publishing a couple of one-shot stories, his first serialized manga series was the hockey-focused Supinamarada!, published in 2011. In 2014, he began work on Golden Kamuy, which became a commercial and critical success, winning the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2018. After the conclusion of Golden Kamuy, he rebooted Supinamarada! under the new title Dogsred in 2023.
