Skin tumors are living entities that change in the course of development, so the clinical and dermoscopic findings will vary during the life span of a lesion. Dermatologists are familiar with the classic ABCD features to identify the classic lesion - but if armed with knowledge of how to identify earlier stages, they might well be able to detect tumors and help patients.
