This curriculum began as a joint research project between the Harvard School of Public Health and Baltimore Public Schools. Field tests among students and teachers showed that with its help, children ate more fruits and vegetables and less fat, watched less TV, and improved their knowledge of nutrition and physical activity. The guide focuses on classroom lessons (44 are included) but also can be used to reinforce healthy practices in the cafeteria, gymnasium, home, and community. Annotation c.
