She was awarded the annual NCTE Highschool Teacher of Excellence Award for the State of Florida and Teacher of the Year in her current school. She uses her teaching and writing experience to encourage and inspire writers throughout the world.

Heather Garcia is a published author and secondary English teacher with almost two decades of classroom and district leadership experience. She has expertly hosted international creative writing workshops for students that resulted in the publication of their work in a profesional journal
