Among her most successful works are The Adventure Series, the Noddy series for young children, The Famous Five and The Secret Seven, which focused on the adventures of a group of crime-solving children. The Secret Seven made their first appearance in a series of seven short stories beginning in the late 1940s, before going on to appear in 15 full length novels, starting with 1949s The Secret Seven and concluding with Fun for the Secret Seven in 1963.
