Dr. Ramana Balasubramaniam is an abdominal wall reconstruction surgeon who trained in Grant Medical College, Mumbai. He founded the AWR Surgeons Community and has trained and taught thousands of surgeons over the years. He was part of the pilot group that published on eTEP retromuscular repairs in 2017.



He is now an Honorary Professor in AWR and General Surgery in GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, India as well as in Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai. He is presently working at Goulburn Valley Health, Shepparton, Victoria, Australia.



 



Dr. Jorge Daes is a distinguished general surgeon specializing in advanced minimally invasive techniques. He is trained at Xaverian University in Bogotá, Colombia, and leads a private practice in Barranquilla, Colombia. Dr. Daes serves as Academic Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Clinica Portoazul and Iberoamerica, is a Fellow and past Governor of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), past President of the Colombian Surgical Society, and currently Secretary of the American Hernia Society.



 A pioneer in hernia surgery, Dr. Daes developed the eTEP technique and introduced the critical view of the myopectineal orifice, transforming the approach to hernia repair. He also innovated intraoperative autonomic blockade, enhancing pain management and postoperative recovery. He conducts clinical immersion courses in eTEP, bariatric surgery, and autonomic neural blockade, teaching through presentations, cadaver labs, live surgical demonstrations, and publications, with over 2,000 citations. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards.



 Dr. Eham Arora is a double board-certified surgeon and educator with a background in laparoscopic GI surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction. He trained at Mumbai's Grant Medical College and after graduation, returned as an Assistant Professor of General Surgery. He is passionate about surgical education and is actively involved in bridging the gap between surgical practice and evolving medical technologies.
