This book is an exceptional high-level work that delves into the timely research of quantum information with single photons. Dr. Teodor Strömberg in particular studied a variety of topics of indefinite causal order in quantum mechanics including techniques to create and characterize such processes more efficiently. It is one of the best structured and most pedagogically written theses he has read. Dr. Strömberg skillfully explains the basics of theory a photonics, gradually introducing more advances theoretical concepts and experimental methods, culminating in cutting-edge research findings. The quality of his thesis is as well highlighted by its extensive length, exceeding 300 pages (excluding reprints and additional materials), dedicated thoroughly explaining the theory and related experimental implementation.

Teodor Strömberg completed his undergraduate studies in Engineering Physics at Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, Sweden. He received his PhD in experimental quantum optics from the University of Vienna in 2024, having co-authored six peer-reviewed publications. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, working on hybrid quantum systems and tabletop tests of gravity using optomechanics.
