Arvustused

This witty, sardonic series of letters to and from fairytale figures the disillusioned Little Mermaid, a split-in-two Rumpelstiltskin, hatched-out Humpty Dumpty, and more explores life beyond the happily ever after. Its the 8+ answer to The Jolly Postman. * The Guardian * Ayoades eccentric, oddball and often childish humour [ ] transfers to childrens books with aplomb [ ] The book is beautifully written, full of the kind of silly pedantry that Ayoades The IT Crowd character, Moss, would approve of. [ ] daft laugh-out-loud moments. * The Big Issue * A wonderful, funny book of fairy tales with a twist, with equally fabulous illustrations by the brilliant David Roberts. * Liz Pichon, author of the Tom Gates series * Bibliophiles will love this story from the beginning. . . . Droll sketches, rendered in pencil with bits of digital color, perfectly complement the text. Happily ever after, mortal reader! * Kirkus Reviews (starred review) * Definitely providing a public service, C. C. Cecily, senior secretary of the Fairy Tale Fan Club, has assembled a set of querulous letters from children to renowned fairy-tale characters. . . indispensable. * Booklist (starred review) *
