From Brooklyn to the North Pole follows Leanord Sussman’s multi-trip documentation of the Svalbard archipelago in the High Arctic. In September 2022, Sussman joined an NSF sponsored 52-day cruise on the United States Coast Guard icebreaker (USCGC) Healy from Dutch Harbor in the Aleutian Islands to the North Pole. The images provide an honest and sobering view of the growing effects of climate change on these ever ephemeral landscapes.
