In his latest novel, award-winning author Alan Reynolds dives deep into the sixteenth century, unravelling the thrilling tale of Alice Tankerville, the last woman to escape from the Tower of London. This gripping thriller, grounded in meticulous research, whisks readers away to the heart of 1530s London, immersing them in the sights, sounds - and pungent smells of Tudor England.

While numerous articles have chronicled the tale of Alice Tankerville and her resourceful accomplice John Wolfe, historical records often present conflicting accounts. In a masterful blend of fact and fiction, Alan Reynolds crafts a narrative pulsating with key elements of their saga, capturing the tumultuous era of Henry VIII's reign with striking accuracy and vivid realism.

A compelling mix of politics, conspiracy, and drama set in 16th century London. - The Wishing Shelf Awards
Based in Yorkshire, Alan Reynolds embarked on his writing journey later in life after a successful career in banking. Following his early retirement, he established a training consultancy, working extensively across Europe and the Middle East. He also runs a small self-employed group, providing mentoring to new business startups.

During his spare time, he began writing as a hobby and completed the initial draft of his first novel, Flying with Kites, a poignant and powerful narrative centred around the war in Kosovo, within just three weeks, in early 2010. The novel quickly gathered a dedicated following on the Authonomy website, with one reviewer describing it as 'an important story that needs telling.'

His work caught the attention of Fisher King Publishing, who subsequently launched Flying with Kites in September 2011. To date, Alan has completed twenty novels to much acclaim. His work covers a wide range of genres including, adventure, romance, psychological thrillers, military, as well as four historical sagas. His latest is a novel set in Tudor times called The Gates of Dark Death. It follows the tragic story of Alice Tankerville, the only woman to have escaped from the Tower of London.

In support of his literary endeavours, Alan Reynolds regularly delivers presentations to literary groups and participates in signings at local bookstores. All his books are summarised on his website where you can also read the first chapters at: www.alanreynoldsauthor.com
