In Glimmering Megan Hayes seeks solace and finds resilience in the wild waters of Wales and beyond. This series of swims-across-the-page tell a lyrical, haunting, yet hopeful story about healing and the restorative, redemptive power of our experiences in nature. Some of the worlds most beautiful swimming spots, from the sea at Llangrannog to Australias West Coast, provide the backdrop to a story of post-traumatic growth through glimmers the term psychologists give to our moments of connection, joy, and safety. Offering both a celebration of wild places and a manual for healing not through any quick fix, but through a series of the smallest strokes, this is a story for all those who feel lost, or broken, and need to be called home again.
