Bart's fabulous life is set adrift when a mysterious goldfish lands on his doorstep. His husband, Harvey, wants to take it in, but Bart says no. Love is on the line, life-long friendships are put to the test and Bart faces a slippery predicament - risk making a change or end up all alone.
Gold In The Water is the fabulous, funny and heartfelt new Irish musical from Shane OReilly with Paul Curley, composed by Denis Clohessy, directed by Ronan Phelan, and choreographed by Philip Connaughton.
This edition was published to coincide with the production's return to Project Arts Centre in November 2025.

Gold in the Water is a fabulous, funny, and heartfelt new Irish musical from Shane O'Reilly with Paul Curley.
Shane OReilly is an actor and theatre maker. He has been making and performing work for young audiences for a decade. He is currently writing two new works for theatre: Gold in the Water, a musical for family audiences, and Her Fathers Voice - a new play/opera. As an actor Shane has worked with many companies including The Abbey Theatre, The Gate, Rough Magic, Druid, The Ark, Theatre Lovett, Landmark, Verdant, Barnstorm and Prime Cut. Shane is currently researching working with young performers in a professional context with the support of an Arts Council YPCE Bursary.
